About
Visual Expression
I am a life-long lover of art and artistic expression. With a background spanning painting, sculpture, design, and mosaics, my current love is acrylic and mixed- media painting.
These works reveal my struggles and willingness to grapple with vulnerability in sharing these extensions of myself.
Striving to stay curious, I find joy in the process of artistic experimentation. Intuition and discernment are important methods in my process.
Both are important in feeling the flow and being able to respond to what is on the canvas.

Each unique work is an expression of self, the world around me, and a testament to the power of surrendering to creative flow. Ultimately, I am called to paint, listen to my ever-mercurial, creative muse and offer visual communication for others.
I invite you to interpret these pieces in your own way and see what it conveys to you.

My Life
I worked my way through university doing production painting, illustration, and jewelry.
Upon graduation I worked with a fine wood furniture craftsman
I took a long break from artistic endeavors that included marriage, children, and teaching art, I found my creative voice again and leaned into a niche market painting backdrops and surfaces for photographers.
The Peace Corps took me to Africa where I taught art in a deaf school, learned batik, weaving, and created large-scale, collaborative mosaics.

In Portland Oregon, I began to explore painting as an extension of my expressive self. Simultaneously, I (reopened) spiritual pathways through meditation, community building, and the divine feminine, which coalesce in my paintings.
I participate in local art exhibits, painting communities and have pieces displayed in several West Coast locations.
I currently live in SE Portland in a beautiful eco-village with my partner, enjoying gardening, urban activities, family and our wilderness in the Pacific Northwest
